Release notes
Windows

Unzip anywhere.
Run bandbinder.exe

  • Portable mode: the library lives in %APPDATA%\BandBinder. To run fully portable (library stored next to the app), create an empty file named portable.txt next to bandbinder.exe before first launch.
  • SmartScreen: if Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click "More info", then "Run anyway". The app is signed with Azure Trusted Code Signing, but SmartScreen trust can take time to build.
  • Missing VCRUNTIME140.dll: install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable once - any up-to-date Windows 11 PC already has it.
  • Updating: no installer - unzip the new download above over the old folder. Your library is stored separately and is never touched by an update. The app tells you in-app when a new version is out, so there's no need to check back here manually.
macOS

DMG image.
Drag to Applications.

  • Requires macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later. Signed and notarized by Apple, so Gatekeeper lets it open on first launch.
  • The library lives in ~/Library/Application Support/BandBinder.
Android

Install BandBinder from Google Play. Google Play Protect scans the signed app.

iOS

Install TestFlight on your iPhone or iPad, then use the iOS early access button to join the beta.

Linux
  • Extract the tar.gz anywhere and run the bandbinder binary inside - no installer, no package manager.
  • The library lives under your XDG data home (typically ~/.local/share).
  • Requires GTK3 (libgtk-3-0) - present by default on Ubuntu, Mint, and most GTK-based desktops.
